About the role
We are recruiting for a Trainee Production Team Leader role in our Kerry site in Portadown.

This role will be a 6-month contract, leading to a permanent role upon successful completion.
The role is full-time with 40 hours a week, working 0600-1430, with overtime available.
What will you be doing?
1. Lead the Production Stream team to ensure they are engaged and high-performing with a focus on problem solving and teamwork.
2. Follow standard procedures:
1. Induct new members into the team.
2. Build team skills through skills assessment, training, feedback, and support.
3. Manage ongoing performance of direct reports.
4. Identify those who have the interest and ability to progress into bigger or different roles and facilitate this through agreed procedures.
5. Manage team member adherence to standards and coach/correct as required with the support of the Group Leader.
3. Document standard work (WES & SOPs), train team members using Job Instruction Training, and manage team member capability using Training & Versatility matrices.
4. Continuously improve standards set by executing 8 Step Practical Problem Solving and other KPS methodologies as appropriate.
5. Check that standards set within the Production Stream are adhered to through layered confirmation.
6. Support the production team by rectifying/escalating any production issues as they occur.
7. Monitor & Improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
8. Cover essential elements of Group Leader role in the event of unplanned absenteeism. Arrange cover for unplanned absenteeism of Team Member or conduct the Team Member's duties for the duration of the absence.
