SEN Teaching Assistant – Tameside – September Start Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Tameside to recruit a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time role is due to start in September and offers the opportunity to support students with special educational needs in a welcoming and inclusive school environment. Role: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester Start Date: September Contract Type: Full-time, long-term Daily Pay: £85 – £100 (depending on experience) Key Responsibilities: Providing 1:1 or small group support for students with EHCPs or additional learning needs. Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs). Supporting students in class across a range of subjects, ensuring they are engaged and accessing learning. Working closely with the school’s SENCO and teaching staff to adapt resources and strategies to support learning. Encouraging independence, confidence, and progress in learners. Helping to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner. Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children or young people with SEND (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH). A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A desire to make a real difference in pupils' educational journeys. Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential).
