About the Role:
Optima Plus Recruitment is seeking a skilled Licensing Officer to support our Client with Housing, Benefits & Planning services by ensuring effective licensing and regulatory compliance. This is a temporary role covering a vacant post, essential to maintaining service quality and meeting operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough licensing inspections to achieve set targets based on risk assessment.
2. Investigate complaints regarding licensed premises, vehicles, drivers, and regulated activities.
3. Collaborate with various services, authorities, and agencies to ensure seamless licensing enforcement.
4. Perform enforcement actions, including serving notices, preparing prosecution files, and presenting cases to the Licensing Panel/Sub-Committee.
5. Provide licensing expertise to businesses, the public, and client departments, promoting awareness and compliance.
6. Actively engage with trade bodies and relevant organizations such as Pubwatch and licensed vehicle associations.
7. Contribute to continuous improvement, ensuring efficient, up-to-date service delivery.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Proven experience in licensing, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
2. Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
3. Excellent communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and presenting reports to panels.
4. Knowledge of enforcement procedures and collaborative work with other agencies.
