A primary school in Little Lever has approached Teaching Personnel seeking an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dynamic team as soon as possible. As an HLTA, you will play an essential role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education across various subjects, working closely with teachers to provide targeted support for students. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills and a passion for education to make a significant impact on students' academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support small group sessions and whole class teaching under the guidance of the class teacher.
Provide high-quality support to students with diverse needs, including those with additional learning requirements.
Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring activities are differentiated to meet individual learning needs.
Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Work closely with teachers to assess, plan, and implement interventions for students needing extra support.
Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) when required.
Key Requirements:
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (minimum Level 4).
Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational role, including experience leading groups of students.
Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both students and staff.
A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
A passion for supporting children’s development and learning.
A DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
