Job Summary
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work with individuals (children, young people) who experience behavioural challenges due to trauma, disabilities, or other social, emotional, and mental health needs. Your role will involve conducting assessments, developing behaviour support plans, and implementing interventions to improve well-being and outcomes within an education setting or at their place of residence.

Freelance role - £18.00 p/hr (Full Time hours (30) = £540 p/week for 38 weeks (Academic Year)
Flexible working hours to match individual needs e.g. minimum of three days, maximum of five
Holidays As the role is freelance we do not provide paid holidays however with notice we can try to accommodate requests

Key Responsibilities
Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop tailored behaviour support plans.
Implement trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions, including the PACE method where applicable.
Work collaboratively with clients, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to promote positive behaviour change.
Maintain accurate and confidential records, reports, and progress notes.
Monitor and evaluate intervention effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, safeguarding policies, and ethical standards.
Participate in ongoing professional development and supervision.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience working with individuals with complex behaviours, neurodivergence, mental health conditions, or trauma backgrounds.
Strong knowledge of positive behaviour support (PBS), trauma-informed care, and the PACE model.
Ability to assess behaviour and develop individualised support plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism and resilience.
Strong organisational and documentation skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience working in settings such as schools, residential care, or disability services.
Training in de-escalation techniques or crisis intervention.
Familiarity with relevant safeguarding policies and legislation.
