Whilst overseeing the day-to-day operation of the facility your role will include (but not be restricted to) the following elements:
* To maintain compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, instructions and inline with SUEZ Policies and Procedures
* To serve as an example and role model in the desire to maximise recycling and improve safety culture and operational efficiencies
* Act as a positive role model to mentor and develop new and existing team members to ensure they understand the team dynamics.
* Improve the performance of the team and individuals through development, learning and constructive feedback
* To report any non-compliances and/or discrepancies on site to the site supervisor.
* Assisting Site Supervisors with the day-to-day management of a large team.
* Assist the site management team to ensure daily production targets are achieved & production time is maximised at the facility.
* Assisting Supervisors with weekly audits, action plans and oversee corrective actions, as well as with employee inductions, briefings and training.
* Assisting Supervisors with the day-to-day performance management of employees.
* Ensuring the segregation of all recyclable materials at the facility is maximised.
* Carry out 5’s audits and SIM observations to promote and maintain the safety & lean culture on site.
* You will also make sure that a good standard of housekeeping is adhered to throughout the MRF and be involved in Continuous Improvement projects such as Lean / 5s.
* H&S must be a priority and you will need to help in the prevention of accidents and making sure that any accidents are dealt with appropriately.
What are the requirements?
* The applicant must be self-motivated and be able to work as part of a team.
* A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you may be expected to work overtime as required. Ideally, the successful candidate will either already hold or be expected to achieve the ISOH Managing Safely Qualification. You will also be computer literate.
