Job Description To play a key supporting role within the Sales team, focusing on the development of comprehensive Cost/Bid Models, Detailed Delivery Schedules, and Gate Review Packs to underpin successful bid submissions. The Project Engineer will ensure that bids are commercially competitive, operationally deliverable, and aligned with both client and company objectives. Job Requirements Technical Competencies & Experience: Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience. Experience supporting bids or project engineering roles in industrial, nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy engineering sectors. Strong knowledge of project planning and scheduling (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). Proven experience developing and maintaining cost models and project schedules for bids. Familiarity with Gate Review or similar project governance processes. Knowledge of engineering standards and HSE regulations, including CDM and CE requirements. Job Responsibilities Bid Development & Sales Support: Collaborate with the Sales Director and engineering teams to develop detailed and accurate Cost Models, Delivery Schedules, and technical inputs for bids. Create and maintain Gate Review Packs to support the bid review and sign-off process, ensuring all commercial, technical, and delivery aspects are robustly captured. Review client tender documentation to identify project requirements, risks, and critical success factors. Liaise with engineering, procurement, and subcontractors to gather necessary data for pricing, delivery schedules, and resource planning. Coordinate the preparation of project execution strategies to be included in technical submissions. Identify and escalate risks, scope gaps, or budget pressures during bid development. Commercial & Administrative Responsibilities: Track project costs versus estimates during bid preparation, raising concerns where necessary. Ensure all supplier and subcontractor quotations are competitive, compliant, and factored into the bid model. Support the development and maintenance of bid documentation to ensure alignment with client specifications and internal governance processes. Manage the input and review of project variations, ensuring accurate documentation within bid models and Gate Review Packs. Work closely with the Design Team to confirm that technical solutions are achievable and meet project objectives. Additional Responsibilities: Attend bid clarifications, internal reviews, and client-facing meetings as needed. Support smooth handover of successful bids to the project delivery teams. Ensure that all bids comply with HSE requirements and company quality standards. Contribute to continuous improvement of bid processes, tools, and templates, including Gate Review documentation.
