Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team in the Cardiac Suite, within the Cardiology Department.
This post would suit an organised person who will provide comprehensive booking of procedures including PCIs and complex procedures and also providing general administrative and typing support to the team. This is a busy and varied role, and the successful applicant must be able to remain calm under pressure.
Applicants will need to possess the ability to organise and prioritise work, along with an understanding of and commitment to confidentiality when dealing with patients.
Main duties of the job
1. To be responsible for the management and delivering of an efficient booking service for the Cardiac Suite, including the booking of PCI’s and complex cardiac procedures.
2. Identify the need for extra capacity, communicating this to the Cardiac Suite Manager and working with the wider team to identify this capacity.
3. To produce clinic letters and documents using the Electronic Patient Record system.
4. To respond efficiently and effectively to telephone queries from patients and other health care professionals.
5. To work independently, prioritising and managing own workload quickly and accurately to respond to the needs of the department.
6. To be a proactive member of the wider Cardiology multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and working together to achieve high standards of patient care.
7. The successful candidate must be a team player and have a flexible approach to work, covering for other members of the administration team where possible in their absence.
