Job Description Summary
A Repair Engineering team is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of repairs for the overall Aeroderivative gas turbine engine fleet. The team is instrumental in supporting Aviation repair shops and Customers repair shops meet financial targets and enhancing their repair capability to service the end users of Aeroderivative gas turbine products. The Repair Engineer is an individual contributor who will work to make decisions, apply concepts, and resolve issues on assigned projects guided by established business policies, procedures, standards, and best practices. Impacts quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of own team.
Desired Characteristics
1. Prior repair, manufacturing and/or design engineering experience.
2. Familiarity with the working process of gas turbine engines and ability to interpret gas turbine engine assembly drawings.
3. Familiarity with after-market maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) processes.
4. Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems.
5. Ability to document and plan.
6. Early adopter of change, adjusting to find faster, simpler approaches that are impactful.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Development of repair solutions and recommending inspection methods to meet short term and long-term business needs.
2. Analyse to substantiate component repair solutions and/or non-conformance in support of engine overhaul.
3. As a Repair Engineer you will be expected to be able to read and interpret Engineering drawings, the GD&T associated with that drawing and perform tolerance stack up analysis.
4. Collaborate with global engineering organizations and support functions as required (such as design, stress, materials, systems engineering etc.).
5. Ability to work across functions in the development, implementation, and final industrialization of a repair to support repair shops.
6. Generate change in repair development documents and engine repair manuals.
7. Leverage prior experience and knowledge and broaden knowledge of one's own technical discipline to meet product deliverables. This may require use of multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
8. Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers, including leadership.
9. Share engineering information and promote open dialogue. This includes timely communications on significant issues or developments.
10. Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks is consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
11. Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/ quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area.
12. Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
13. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications
1. Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace/Aeronautical, Manufacturing preferred).
