Hampshire County Council’s Children’s Services is one of the top local authorities in the country. Rated Outstanding by Ofsted, we are continuously striving to improve. This includes supporting our in-house Foster Carers to provide placements that enable our children in care to thrive. Children’s Services is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Team Manager who will take a leading role in the operational management of Hampshire Hives – a network of Foster Carer peer support networks.
As Hive Assistant Team Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving and embedding our growing Hampshire Hives. The Hampshire Hive team sits within our Fostering Hampshire Children service, and works with Foster Carers that have asked to join a local Hive. You will be responsible for working alongside Supervising Social Workers, Placement Commissioning and Child in Care teams to deliver and develop the Hampshire Hives.
You will apply your experience of working with foster carers to create and sustain effective peer support networks for foster carers. You will assist in the management and leadership of a team of Hive Carer Support Workers that each lead and support a Hampshire Hive.
About the Hampshire Hive
Hampshire Hives consist of up to 20 fostering families (Hive families) who are linked together to support one another, with a Hive Carer Support Worker, acting as the central point. By doing so we hope to create an extended family support network.
Hive Carer Support Workers co-ordinate and support the foster families who are part of their support network (Hive). They should be able to respond to all sorts of fostering concerns and be able to offer advice and provide emotional and practical support to the foster families in their network. The Hive Carer Support Worker will work in the best interests of the child and alongside those professionals involved in the child’s care.
