An Audit and Accounts Manager is required for a well-established firm of accountants where you'll be managing a varied client portfolio. The successful candidate will support in providing a full range of accounting, auditing, and tax services to assist clients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Management and control of a portfolio of accounting and audit engagements, ensuring they are completed to internal methodology and are of the highest quality.
2. Directing and overseeing the work of junior team members, including reviewing their accounting and audit work while providing coaching and mentoring support.
3. Managing all aspects of accounting and audit delivery, including timelines, team briefings, team supervision, and reviews by more senior team members.
4. Acting as the primary point of contact for the accounting or audit client.
5. Overseeing the internal profitability of the engagement, including budgeting, negotiation, identifying and communicating overruns, raising fees, and agreeing dates for cash collection.
6. Dealing with complex accounting and audit issues that arise during the course of an engagement.
7. Communicating with other internal departments on technical matters.
8. Preparing accounting and audit proposals for prospective clients.
9. Performance managing junior team members, ensuring that you are having development conversations that support their growth and career progression.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
1. Experience in an accountancy firm is essential.
2. Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
3. Current knowledge of financial reporting and auditing standards, including both FRS 102 and IFRS.
4. Detailed knowledge of the Companies Act and LLP Act.
5. Excellent Microsoft Office competency.
6. FCA Handbook knowledge would be a bonus but is not essential.
7. Ability to use proprietary software to manage the audit workflow and documentation of evidence.
8. Experience with managing an accounts and audit portfolio.
9. Review of audit files identifying key audit risks and planning appropriate responses to these risks.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
11. Strong time management and organisational skills.
12. Self-driven and resilient.
13. Leadership skills and ability to act as a role model.
14. Willingness to be part of a team that desires to achieve growth without losing professional standards.
