As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs to ensure a secure work environment for all employees and visitors.
Job Description
Main Duties:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local and international regulations.
2. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
3. Lead and coordinate emergency response activities, including drills and training exercises.
4. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
5. Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels of the organization.
6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, making data-driven improvements as needed.
7. Collaborate with department heads and management to integrate safety practices into daily operations.
8. Maintain accurate safety records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
9. Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices.
10. Manage the budget for safety-related equipment, training, and programs.
11. Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters with external agencies and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety management or supervisory role.
3. In-depth knowledge of local and international safety regulations and standards.
4. Proven experience in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to train and educate others.
7. Proficiency in Windows-based programs and safety management software.
8. Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
10. Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization.
11. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
12. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
13. Professional demeanor and commitment to maintaining a culture of safety.
14. Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
