The Role Teach English across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach KS5 for suitable candidates. Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons, ensuring that all learners, regardless of ability, have the opportunity to achieve. Use creative teaching methods to bring classic and contemporary texts to life, making literature relevant and accessible to all students. Support students in their preparation for GCSE exams, focusing on key skills such as critical thinking, analysis, and structured writing. Promote literacy and language development throughout the school by organising activities such as creative writing clubs, book discussions, and debates. Work closely with the Head of Department and other teachers to develop and refine the English curriculum, keeping it fresh and engaging for all learners. The Ideal Candidate Qualified with UK QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Experienced in teaching English at secondary level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and exam specifications. Passionate about English and committed to inspiring students to develop their skills in reading, writing, and communication.
