Department: Communications Department
Job Function: Coordinating external media activity in relation to matches/players and administrative
support to the Communications Manager and Director of Communications. Assisting in
delivery of Clubs strategic messages.
Main responsibilities:
• Communications Department in its work with playing staff and management in delivering on external media commitments;
• Coordinating for non-match day filming opportunities at Stamford Bridge and Cobham (Where required);
• Helping to player media schedule and assisting with delivering of press and PR activities;
• Supporting PR related from other club departments (Commercial, marketing, tours, Chelsea Club);
• Assisting the Communications team match days to deliver the men’s first team media obligations;
• Managing media activity at Academy where required;
• Providing support to the communications team day-to-day media enquiries;
• Regularly updating the media section on the official website;
• Assisting the drafting of written responses to public
• Carrying out general administrative and research duties related to media management;
• Helping deliver company’s mission, vison and values in all external where
appropriate.
Measures of Performance:
• Build, maintain and sustain relationships with players and staff to ensure Communications activities are fulfilled;
• Create harmonious relationships with all external media, assisting with access to talent CFC assets to provide positive and impactful coverage;
• Efficient in meeting external broadcast obligations, delivering rights holder obligations effectively;
• A team player, with the ability to assist other members of communications department required.
Person Spec:
• Experience of working in a demanding media environment;
• Able to work to tight deadlines demonstrate strong proof reading and researching skills;
• Display enthusiastic approach to managing competing priorities and a willingness to develop in the role;
• Able to deal with sensitive situations tactfully and maintain confidentially at all times;
• Experience in dealing with profile personalities and media issues. Preferable but not essential;
• Genuine interest in media sport in general;
• IT self-sufficiency and fluent in Excel, PowerPoint, Work and Outlook essential.
