We are looking for a Structural Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience who is passionate about design and structural analysis, interested in complex structures and the challenges that come with them, and has strong digital engineering and modelling skills. You will be based in our office 10 miles south of Belfast with good access to public transport and ample onsite parking. You will be working with our team to design some of the most exciting and prestigious projects in the UK.

Job Role Includes:
1. Develop designs in accordance with the Client’s requirements and relevant design standards to achieve cost-effective solutions. These will include British Standards, European Standards, and industry-specific design standards.
2. Prepare and check structural reports, design calculations, structural analysis models, and other written documents.
3. Collaborate with other disciplines and offices within the company to develop successful designs and solutions to engineering problems.
4. Prepare structural design calculations in steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and concrete.
5. Coordinate with all members of the project team (including client, architect, project manager, other specialists & local authorities) with the combined aim of delivering projects on time and within budget.
6. Experience in the use of design software such as MasterFrame, Robot Structural Analysis, Autodesk Fusion 360, TEDDS, and Idea Statica.
7. The right candidate will assist in building a strong team of designers to meet the needs of the business.
Skills:
1. BEng degree level (or equivalent) in Structural Engineering/Engineering.
2. Have worked in a similar role previously and have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
3. You’ll have a deep understanding of structural analysis, finite element modelling, and structural design. An understanding of structural engineering optimisation techniques would also be desirable.
4. Organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, you strive to meet deadlines and have a close appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.
5. Collaborative in nature, you’ll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You’re used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude.
