Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity to 12 January 2026
Hackney Council is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated communications professional for an integral role in supporting Adult Social Care within the Adults, Health and Integration Directorate.
Ensuring our staff are well informed and engaged is paramount to sustaining a motivated workforce and delivering better outcomes for our residents. Staff working within Adult Social Care deliver vital services for people living with long-term conditions who require ongoing interventions targeted at their specific needs.
The post will report to the Corporate Internal Communications and Employee Engagement Manager with a dotted line to the Group Director for Adults, Health and Integration. This post will be responsible for developing and leading on the Adult Social Care service internal communications strategy, vision, and channels, ensuring full integration of messaging and campaigns, and ensuring that internal communications activity and messages are delivered appropriately and in line with the Council’s vision, staff values and corporate strategies.
They will also be required to directly advise the Director and Heads of Service on internal communications matters and crisis communications.
The successful candidate will be experienced in communication strategy development and event management and be skilled at delivering effective communications to a range of audience profiles. The role requires a creative-minded individual with proven writing skills and an understanding of internal communications and staff engagement principles, stakeholder engagement and delivering effective, measurable campaigns.
This post will require effective, collaborative working with colleagues across the Directorate and Council.
