Our Reparation service is made up of a team of staff and volunteers working with children and young people (10-18) who have been referred by the Youth Justice Service. As a Reparation youth worker, you will be providing support, encouragement, and supervision to enable children and young people to undertake ‘community reparation’ work across Cambridgeshire. We are looking to recruit a youth worker to support our team and the young people whom we work with in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area. It is a rewarding role, working on a part time basis. Your primary role will be to work with young offenders who have received reparation hours as part of the restorative justice system, delivering reparation programmes that meet the needs of the young offenders and victims and provide a positive community experience. Skills and experience Good communication skills with children and young people is a must as is the ability to communicate in a clear, timely fashion Experience of working with young people particularly those who may exhibit poor behaviour. Experienced in group work or structured activities Able to deliver and support practical projects, for example gardening and painting Due to the requirements of the role, you should also have access to a car with business insurance as you will be transporting young people In accordance with safer recruitment processes many of the roles we recruit for require successful candidates to undertake an appropriate criminal record background check.
