The role of a cabinet maker is to work in the Joinery Workshop producing furniture and joinery items as specified. The items required include bespoke furniture. Skills Knowledge of joinery production and processes Understand designs, technical drawings and written instructions Be competent in the use of woodworking machinery, such as panel saws, planers and spindle moulders, together with relevant power tools such as routers. Safely set up, operate and maintain workshop machinery such as panel saws, planners, spindle moulders, morticers and tenoners. Have good attention to detail and be able to work accurately Ability to work well with others and on your own Ability to work to tight deadlines Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations Ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools Flexibility when following instructions on priority of work flow Role and Responsibilities Know the uses of different types of wood and other materials, and use the correct ones Use appropriate fixtures and fittings Use specifications to manufacture bespoke items Produce items to agreed timing Use a range of equipment expertly and safely Communicate any issue with production to the Joinery Workshop Manager Responsible for safety and ‘housekeeping’ of own work area and overall workshop Please note we regret that due to the high volume of CVs received we cannot give individual feedback to candidates.
