My client is an established manufacturing company looking to expand their team.
CAD design for mechanical systems, subsystems and component prototypes is a critical requirement.
Mechanical modelling of structures/components and design optimisation using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) would be desired.
The individual will be tasked with increasing the utilisation of FEA within the design process.
Understanding of design function in context of new product development (NPD) process in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
Strong communicator and team worker essential.
Ability to understand how design function fits in the wider production environment and processes.
Be the lead engineer in development of our product, working closely with shopfloor fabricators & assemblers.
Ability to interpret customer requirements, provide technical support to production, sales, service and customer support.
Organised and disciplined design approach
Experienced and versed in change control methodologies for designs.
Carrying out root cause analysis and initiating corrective active as necessary
Proven experience in a product manufacturing environment would be essential.
Knowledge of metal fabrication & design assembly processes including welding, joining etc. would be useful.
Experienced in use of industry standard CAD packages must include Solidworks.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Holidays 28 day including bank holidays.
