Job summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our Medicines Management Pharmacy Team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary as a Band 5 Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician working clinically at ward level and in the Pharmacy Department. The successful candidate will be registered with the GPhC and will hold an Accredited checking qualification. Main duties of the job To support the timely discharge of patients, assessing patients own drugs are suitable for use, provide specialist pharmaceutical services at an advanced level in specialist areas including audit, final accuracy checking and medicines reconciliation and support a busy pharmacy, dispensing of all types of medication/prescriptions for patient use. To provide safe, timely, cost effective appropriate and high qualitypharmaceutical services for patients and staff. To apply for this post, you will be a Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC, be a qualified Accredited checking Technician and medicine reconciliation trained. About us We operate from three main hospitals -the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. The RLI and FGH have a range of General Hospital services, with busy Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
