The Opportunity: To join an established & successful, multinational Commercial & Industrial facilities management business, providing its customers with the entire facility life cycle, from planning, installation, and automation to the operation of the facility and buildings. Supporting a broad variety of clients across the UK, as such the role does involve travel to multiple locations. The Head of HSQ will provide strategic leadership whilst driving synergies across the business in Health, Safety, and Quality performance.
Role Purpose: The Head of HSQ is responsible for driving a safety culture across the business which ensures that the highest safety standards are implemented and adhered to across all aspects of the Company's activities. As a functional leader, the postholder is required to provide appropriate support in the performance development of direct team members, as well as direction on needs and solutions across the broader resources in the business.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
1. BTEC/HNC (or equivalent) in a related discipline
2. IOSH Managing Safely
3. NEBOSH National General Certificate or above
4. Formal internal auditor qualifications
5. Full knowledge of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management), ISO 9001 (Quality Systems), and ISO 14001 (Environmental Systems)
6. Working knowledge and full understanding of Health and Safety legislation and practice
7. Significant experience and knowledge of Quality Management
8. Detailed knowledge of risk assessment and management
9. Experience and expertise in APQP / PPAP / PSW processes
10. Experience and knowledge of Change Management
11. Experience of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001, ISO 45001 auditing
12. Background in operations, with extensive HSQ responsibilities
13. Experience of multi-site, multi-discipline organisations
14. Strong knowledge of QoS / KPIs / PPM
15. Strong understanding of D/P FMEA, Control plans, SCs
16. Experience of dealing with customers face-to-face
17. Experience of chairing internal & external meetings
18. Full UK driving licence
19. Knowledge and experience of UK manufacturing industry
Desirable:
1. Degree qualification in a related discipline
2. Flexible approach to work patterns
3. Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
4. Expertise in Lean methodology
5. Knowledge of Kaizen
6. Understanding of 6 Sigma (Black belt)
7. Experience of working within the automotive Industry or supply chain
8. Working experience of HSQ systems management
9. Understanding and experience of 'Train the trainer'
10. Experience of mentoring auditors
