We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Design Manager to join our JV team delivering a long-term programme of works at Faslane and Coulport naval bases. Working as part of a team delivering ongoing upgrades and new infrastructure, this role offers exposure to a wide variety of works for the MOD.

What will you be responsible for?
The Senior Design Manager provides essential management, subject matter expertise, and guidance to drive the success of works from pre-construction through delivery. This includes managing external consultants, internal teams, and client representatives to ensure effective design management across a range of high-value projects.
Your core responsibilities will include:
1. Managing and delivering design information in accordance with the agreed design programme and deliverable schedule.
2. Ensuring appointed design consultants fulfill their duties per their appointment, and reviewing their outputs for compliance with standards and briefs.
3. Providing design input during both pre-construction and construction phases.
4. Assessing, mitigating, and managing risks associated with design.
5. Ensuring designs meet health and safety legislation, sustainable building standards (e.g., BREEAM), and industry codes of practice.
6. Chairing design meetings, writing reports, and delivering presentations.
7. Producing design programmes, scopes, responsibility matrices, appointments, and schedules.
8. Recording progress and providing uplink reports.
9. Ensuring design compliance with relevant legislation and technical requirements.
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you:
* Hold relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
* Have demonstrable experience in a design role within a main contractor environment.
* Have experience with BIM Level 2 projects, including COBie data and LoDM.
* Understand the RIBA Plan of Work thoroughly.
* Possess broad technical knowledge across relevant construction work packages.
* Are up-to-date with current building regulations.
* Understand key design principles such as M&E parameters, fire, and acoustic requirements.
* Have good knowledge of contractual issues related to consultants.
* Can produce detailed presentations and deliver confidently to stakeholders.
* Can control and guide key meetings with stakeholders.
* Possess a full UK Driving License.
* Are able to undergo security vetting procedures.
