Carers Lead We are on an exciting and rapid improvement journey here in Adult Social Care at Southampton City Council. We are two years into our transformation programme and have far reaching and ambitious plans to build a sustainable service that supports our residents to live independent and fulfilling lives in communities that work together for the benefit of all. We are looking for a passionate, hands-on, motivated leader with a positive vision for the future of social care, to lead us in improving our support for carers. This is an 18 month fixed term opportunity to change the way we provide support and shape our services forever. About The Role: We are looking for someone who has wide ranging knowledge of the services available to carers and how to navigate these to support carers in the way that best meets their needs. You will be able to build wide-reaching ways of identifying carers who might not be accessing support today or even recognise themselves as carers. You will have curiosity to research the latest thinking and learn from others as well as the skills, experience and drive needed to design a service from scratch, engage and inform colleagues and partners to understand the needs of cares and help them to thrive in their caring role. You may be or have been a carer and you’ll use this experience to inspire, educate and equip colleagues and partners to better understand and meet the needs of our carers and the people they are caring for.
