SEN Teaching Assistant About the Role: We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist ARP unit, supporting 8 Reception – Year 1 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will work alongside two experienced staff members, using visual aids, flashcards, and communication tools to assist non-verbal students. The role involves positive handling strategies, personal care, and outdoor sensory activities to help students engage and regulate emotions. Team Teach training is desirable but not essential. * Have experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
* Be confident supporting students with ASD, including non-verbal communication methods.
* Have knowledge of positive handling strategies (Team Teach desirable).
* Be caring, patient, and able to provide personal care support.
