Engineering Manager (Industrial Part Exp. Req.) Description
Our client in the industrial parts & equipment industry is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team in East Portland, Oregon. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will manage the engineering team, enhance technical product knowledge, support sales and marketing efforts, and play a key role in client-facing initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing and industrial parts such as bearings, gearboxes, sheaves, sprockets, shaft couplings, pumps, or motors. Success in this role requires a blend of technical expertise and people management skills to drive collaboration between internal teams and customers. Engineering Manager (Industrial Part Exp. Req.) Responsibilities
• Lead and develop the engineering team to support sales, product, & quality initiatives
• Oversee engineering tools, workflows, and processes for product development
• Run weekly engineering team meetings, delegate tasks, and set priorities
• Design and troubleshoot industrial parts, resolve quality issues, and address custom requests
• Handle client-facing initiatives, including issue resolution and customer site visits
• Manage a team of seven, including Mechanical Engineers, Field Support & Operations/Admin
• Provide technical support to customers, sales, and marketing teams
• Visit overseas factories and domestic trade shows as needed
• Assist Quality Assurance with technical problem-solving and testing
• Deliver technical presentations to internal teams and customers
• Support a wide array of industrial customers with diverse needs
• Maintain a positive team culture, address conflicts, and provide leadership
Engineering Manager (Industrial Part Exp. Req.) Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience industrial parts manufacturing is required
• Prior team leadership experience is required
• Ability to work 100% on-site is required
• Willingness to travel up to 15%, including one international trip per year, is required
