The Organisation
Our client is a charity supporting the needs of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans.
One of their programmes was set up to address concerns that too many lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people over the age of 50 are living in isolation and facing discrimination.
They are now looking for two part-time Group Facilitators to help launch this programme in Liverpool. The official launch will be in April 2025.

This critical role will see you help shape a brand-new space for connection, creativity, and community, empowering older lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in Liverpool to thrive and feel seen.
What’s more, you’ll be taking on a part-time role that gives you the flexibility to manage other commitments, whether that’s studying, caring, or simply enjoying life outside of work.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Sessional Group Facilitator, you’ll be delivering monthly activity group sessions for over 50s in Liverpool as part of our client’s programme.
Specifically, you will create safe, welcoming spaces for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans community to support interaction, build social networks and individual confidence and develop skills.
Delivering workshops and managing trips and group activities, you will plan sessions with colleagues and prepare materials, as well as creating a calendar of events.
You’ll be the enthusiastic lynchpin that brings people together in support of one another, in friendship and in solidarity to ensure older people feel recognised and enabled.
Working at accessible venues in Liverpool, your time commitment will be:
* 3.5 hours of in-person group meetings monthly
* 1.5 hours per month of planning and communication (can be hybrid working)
* Three special weekend events across the year
About You
To be considered as a Sessional Group Facilitator, you will need:
* Knowledge of the intersectional needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans communities, specifically around over 50s/older people
* Experience of working with people in a community setting
* An understanding of the principles of confidentiality and safeguarding and experience of escalating safeguarding issues
* Confidence and approachability when leading a group
* The ability to remain calm in challenging situations
* The ability to redirect group discussions towards tasks or topics
The closing date for this role is 16th April 2025.
Interviews will be held on 28th April 2025.
