This full-time, permanent position commences in September and presents a unique opportunity to lead and shape the provision of special educational needs support within a thriving mainstream school environment. Position Summary The successful candidate will assume a pivotal role in championing the needs of students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate support and guidance to achieve their full potential. The role entails strategic leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning community. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive SEN strategy for the school, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. Lead and manage the SEN team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of provision. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to assess student needs and develop individualized learning plans. Oversee the implementation of appropriate interventions and support strategies to address individual needs. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision, implementing improvements as needed. Advocate for the needs of students with SEN, promoting their inclusion and well-being within the school community. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification. National Award for SEN Coordination or a willingness to undertake this qualification. Proven experience in a similar SENDCo or SEN leadership role. A deep understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
