Interim Finance Business Partner - Tiverton / Hybrid Remote - Up to: £500 per day Trial Balance Consulting have been engaged by a large public services organisation who urgently seek to recruit an experienced Finance Business Partner to join their team on an interim basis. This is a full time contract with an anticipated duration of 4-6 months to commence in February 2025. The contract can be completed on a largely remote basis but will require the successful candidate to occasionally join the team in Tiverton, to include a two day induction. Reporting to the Head of Finance and senior finance team, the role will call for an experienced and highly efficient Finance BP, ideally with some experience of public sector or NFP reporting standards. Key responsibilities to include: - Line supervision of a small team of transactional colleagues - Assume responsibility for setting annual budgets - Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register - Development of the Capital Programme - Day-today cash management - Authorise and oversee supplier payment runs - Production of annual statements and other technical accounting documents - Regular attendance of meetings with SMT both inside and outside of finance - VAT and HMRC reporting - Regularly liaise with internal and external audit functions, and treasury teams For this role we seek a professionally qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA), or with demonstrable vocational experience gained in a similar role. Previous experience of public finance would be highly desirable with particular focus on capital programmes, S106, VAT, RO/RA forms, reserves reconciliation and service support. The organisation is technology focussed so a sound IT aptitude and the ability to quickly pick up bespoke systems will be essential.
