It is essential that the successful candidate has a wide knowledge and proven experience in teaching KS3 and KS4 Maths but is also willing to teach KS3 Computing. A willingness to develop their teaching practice, across these subjects, is vital as we continue to work collaboratively to meet the needs of all of our learners.
The post has arisen due to an expansion of our Maths teams and due to the increasing popularity of I-media at KS4 which has resulted in the need for additional capacity to support with the teaching of KS3. If you also have an interest in delivering I-media alongside Maths, this may be possible in the future. Both the Maths and Computing departments are committed to learning beyond the classroom. The successful candidate would be expected to play a vital role in providing opportunities for our learners to develop their knowledge and passion for Maths and Computing. This will include planning and delivering high quality lessons, facilitating and supporting trips and taking advantage of extra-curricular opportunities that both support and enrich the lives of our students here at Shevington.
The school non-negotiables (mentioned in the message from the Headteacher) have been at the forefront of our development in recent years. All Maths and Computing lessons have fully implemented each of the elements and we would expect the successful candidate to show a knowledge of these in their interview lesson as well relevant pedagogical understanding in their interview.
