* Inspiring and leading operational teams to prioritize safety in all activities.
* Ensuring that teams receive adequate training to meet competency and compliance standards.
* Promoting a culture of "right first time" to reduce customer complaints.
* Proactively managing future works and programs to minimize disruptions and preventable mistakes.
* Reviewing and approving contractor method statements and risk assessments.
* Conducting regular safety audits to identify hazards and implement necessary controls.
* Managing vehicles and drivers to adhere to driving standards policies and the highway code.

Exceptional people management and delivery skills coupled with excellent communication abilities along with diplomacy and the ability to make independent decisions, as you will often need to balance client expectations with contractual requirements and business priorities. Experience in a similar role in the utilities/water sector, ideally with a health and safety qualification such as IOSH. Desirable qualifications include NRSWA, SMSTS/SSSTS, and CDM training.
