We’re looking for a Community Safety and Corporate Resilience Manager to join our client’s team. This role is responsible for leading community safety initiatives, working with key partners, and ensuring the council’s emergency planning and corporate resilience measures are robust and effective. Key Details: Temporary contract from March to June 2025 (potential extension) Office-based at Newham Dockside, with potential for hybrid working Rates: £247.01 per day PAYE / £320.00 per day Umbrella Your Role: Develop and implement community safety strategies and crime prevention initiatives. Lead on corporate resilience and emergency planning, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Work with the police, fire services, probation services, and health organisations to tackle crime, antisocial behaviour, and safety concerns. Oversee and manage the Community Safety Partnership (CSP), ensuring coordinated approaches to public safety. Monitor and respond to critical safety incidents, working with partners to mitigate risks. Ensure effective business continuity planning, emergency response, and resilience planning for the council. Lead on policy development related to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), Modern Slavery, Hate Crime, and Violence Reduction. Manage funding streams for community safety projects and develop strategic plans to reduce crime and disorder. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in community safety, crime prevention, or emergency planning. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and Civil Contingencies Act 2004. Experience in developing and managing multi-agency partnerships. Strong ability to assess risks, develop mitigation plans, and handle emergency incidents. Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
