A little about myself:
I am an older lady living in Loughor. I have been diagnosed with Vascular Dementia. I previously ran my own business, but this has sadly now ended. My PA would suit an ex-care home worker or nurse with mid to late dementia experience. The aim of my PA is for my family to try and keep me at home for as long as possible, but my vascular dementia is progressing at a fast pace. All cognitive functions have now gone that doesn’t allow me to be independent in the home anymore.
My sentences are now unstructured, so conversation is difficult.
Main duties of a PA would be to be a companion to support me, turn TV on, try, where possible to provide medication, support with trips out in the car to give me a break in my day. Prepare and leave out food and water.
Driver required to take me out. Must have own car.
Female preferred.

Essential:
I need you to:
• Role would suit an ex- care home worker that has a huge experience in supporting individuals with dementia.
• An individual that can have a laugh, banter to ease the tension and gain trust. Mum prefers a person with a strong character and not a caring character. (she believes there is nothing wrong with her)
• An individual that has experience in reading people, not asking questions, knowing what an individual may need whilst the individual is unable to explain. Be patient and supportive with conversation to calm the individual and aid their confidence.
Only applicants with mid – late dementia experience should apply.
Desirable
I’d prefer if:
• You speak Welsh.
I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
