Job Title: Mental Healthcare Assistant (HCA) Location: Camberley, GU16 7UJ Job Type: Part-time / Flexible Shifts About the Role: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Healthcare Assistants (HCA) to join our team and provide exceptional care and support to individuals with mental health needs. As a Mental Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of patients in a variety of healthcare settings. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care, including personal hygiene, support with meals, and assistance with daily living activities. Support patients with their mental health recovery, offering emotional support and guidance as needed. Monitor patients’ physical and emotional conditions and report any changes to the nursing team. Assist with therapeutic activities, ensuring a calm and supportive environment. Promote the safety and dignity of patients, ensuring adherence to care plans and risk assessments. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team. Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with healthcare policies. Requirements: Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, preferably in a mental health or care setting. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude toward those with mental health conditions. Ability to remain calm and handle challenging situations professionally. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends. A relevant qualification in healthcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential.
