Accounts Team Manager - Flexible Supports and Accounts Receivable
Our organisation provides healthcare and support to people throughout NZ. We are seeking an Accounts Manager to join the team.
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual for this role based in our Christchurch Office. As a vital member of our organisation, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely completion of our IF payroll and billing tasks while maintaining compliance with legislative requirements and company policies, and managing the AR function for the group. This position reports to the Group Financial Controller.
Key duties
* Manage and motivate the existing individualised funding and accounts receivable team (a team of 3), ensuring they feel supported in their everyday roles.
* Ensure that weekly individualised funding and accounts receivable is completed accurately and on time.
* Fully manage the accounts receivable function.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Act as the point of contact for any escalated payroll queries.
* Apply expert payroll knowledge to ensure legislative compliance.
* Identify and streamline day to day processes where needed.
* General accounting tasks.
Skills and experience
* 5+ years of experience in a payroll position.
* An excellent knowledge of NZ payroll legislation.
* Proactive, organised and sound analytical/problem-solving skills.
* Experience in managing a team.
* Previous experience in accounts receivables.
* Healthcare experience preferred.
* Great attention to detail.
* Good prioritization skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Understanding of databases and backgrounds and able to critically look at data for any discrepancies/errors.
* Excellent MS Excel skills.
* Knowledge of billing processes.
* Some knowledge of accounting systems and practices.
* Use of Xero software an advantage.
