As an Autism Assistant, you will support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their educational and personal development. Working closely with teachers and the SEN team, you will create a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to each student’s unique needs. Responsibilities as an Autism Assistant: Provide individual and group support for autistic students in the classroom and at school events. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Foster students' social and emotional development by encouraging positive interactions and coping skills. Adapt learning materials to suit students' needs and abilities. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to track progress and set achievable goals. Promote a safe and supportive environment for all students. Requirements for the as an Autism Assistant: Experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (preferred). Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students. An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one).
