Class 1 HGV Driver (032jc) – Newcastle Under Lyme - £36,800 + O/T + Benefit
My client who are a specialist delivery company are now seeking to recruit a Class 1 Driver to join their expanding team delivering goods in the local area. They are also interested in Class 2 drivers who after completing a set period of time would be interested in getting their Class 1 ticket.
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
You will be reporting to the Transport Manager, and you will be delivering orders to their client’s locations, accurately and on time, as well as building strong relationships between the clients and internal departments so you can deal with any queries when you can, as well as being a champion of safe working and eco-driving.
Therefore, your responsibility will include:
• LGV Driving, all legal requirements to be met fully. Consideration for other road users and members of the public. Clear, accurate completion of tachograph records, manual entries and defect reports. Vehicles to be operated within relevant speed and weight limits at all times. Nights out will be involved.
• Feed Delivery, Accurate, safe working on customers farms. Care to be taken at all times to achieve correct bins for feed and UFAS compliance. Safety of farm employees, children and stock are paramount. Damage to buildings or other property to be avoided.
• Paperwork, all delivery records, cleaning records, defect reports etc., to be completed accurately, in full and on time.
• Health & Safety, Comply fully with company & customer health and safety policies, as well as Environment
• Fully adhere to rules set out in the site IPPC, comply with company environment policy and assist the transport manager to improve the site EMS
To be eligible for this role you will need:
Essential:
• Current C+E licence
• Ownership of a digital Tachograph Card
• Driver certificate of Professional Competency.
• Regular driving of LGV’s.
• Fluent in English: Constant communication with colleagues and customers
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to comply with legislation
• Ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism
In return they are offering the following, up to £36,800 to start if you are already a Class 1, if you are a class 2, your starting salary will be less, 4-day week working on a 6-day week shift roster, and standard 44 hrs per week, with any overtime and extra days paid at time and a half. 28 days off per year, as well as 5-day breaks during the shift rota, and your days working being booked at several months in advance.
