Muntons is a significant global supplier to the food and drinks industry and has been producing high-quality malt and malted ingredients for some of the most famous and well-loved brands around the globe for over years.
They are seeking an engaging, inspiring and proven Continuous Improvement leader to design, train and deliver their Continuous Improvement programme and associated tools and techniques that will deliver measurable business benefits across their manufacturing processes.
The successful candidate will work with the Operations and Supply Chain teams to create a safe, efficient and effective operation that continually improves across people, process and technology. They will utilise analysis of plant efficiency, labour costs, product yields, production wastage and other data to prioritise, plan and deliver improvements across plants. Additionally, they will actively look for digital improvements across all areas of manufacturing.
Duties and responsibilities include:
1. Design and deliver a continuous improvement programme to support operational excellence and business strategy.
2. Collaborate within a culture where safety is first at ALL times.
3. Support initiatives aimed at improving factory GMP and clean as you go standards.
4. Train teams in use of relevant tools and techniques.
5. Actively maintain awareness of latest thinking in improvement approaches, operational excellence and industry best practices. Review and factor into CI programmes or recommend to Department Managers for utilisation in area improvements where relevant.
6. Ensure compliance with all environmental and sustainability requirements across the site.
7. Energy usage and sustainability must be factored into all decision making and projects.
8. Coach and develop CI approach, tools and techniques across the business.
9. Create a culture where CI/lean principles are embedded into the day-to-day operation.
10. Review, embed and improve KPIs and Visual management processes to inform on and drive improving performance on agreed metrics.
11. Support implementation of SIC (shift, daily, weekly, monthly) performance review and improvement meeting structure to include H&S, Quality and Performance. Output to include actions, owners and delivered within agreed timescales to eliminate the root causes.
12. Establish common investigation and problem-solving approach to establish root causes, clear preventative actions, follow up and closure.
13. Support as agreed delivery of specific Capex and BIP projects.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
1. Demonstrated experience in delivering improvements in a manufacturing environment using CI tools and techniques.
2. Trained in lean & Six Sigma techniques.
