SERVICE & MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Service & Maintenance Engineer to join the team at Lintott, a Galliford Try business. The Service Maintenance Engineer will provide Electrical and Control system support to our clients located throughout the UK.
* Ensure that work practices comply with the requirements of Health & Safety at Work Act & work procedures/Business Assurance System (incorporating the Company’s Health & Safety Policy)
* Understand and comply with the Company Business Management System, Quality Manual, Company Procedures and Standards relating to Production tasks (QA forms)
* Advise of any issues prior to the commencement of work
* Help ensure that the workplace (on or off site) is exceptional in terms of cleanliness & housekeeping (based on the 6S)
* Ensure that all tools & work equipment (benches & cases) are safe, orderly & clean
* Attend customers sites and aid in resolving Electrical and Control system faults, participating in a rota system providing 24/7 cover for key clients in the fault finding and repair of control systems including SCADA/PLC/HMI, Control Panels, Motor Control Centres, VFD Drives, Instrumentation and Field equipment
* Attend site and carry out site surveys for control system upgrades/site support contracts
* Provide support to the engineering and shop floor function, assisting with installation and commissioning activities as required
About You:
* HNC/ONC in Electrical/Systems/Software engineering plus experience in either Food, FMCG, Automotive, Materials Handling or Utility industries.
* Certified apprenticeship (NVQ 3).
* Experience with PLC’s: uploading and downloading PLC software, diagnosing problems via PLC software, basic modifications to PLC software and commissioning of PLC software.
* Experience with VFD Drives: basic fault finding and uploading/downloading parameters.
* Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
* Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety in the Workplace.
* Good understanding of control panel manufacture.
* Experience in a similar role in a System Integration Environment or Maintenance support.
* Experience in servicing, supporting and commissioning control systems in some/all of the following industries: Food, FMCG, Automotive, Materials Handling or Utility industries.
* Knowledge of CE and PUWER.
