The Role SONI has a licence obligation to maintain and update a Grid Code. This document sets out the minimum technical standards required for connecting and using the N. Ireland Transmission System. This document will evolve and need to be updated as new technologies look to connect to the Transmisison system to deliver future renewable targets. As markets and EU Codes change, so must our Grid Code. SONI also ensures compliance with the Grid Code for all participants. This role involves leading on the management of the Grid Code and ensuring that it is fit for purpose. The role involves attending the Gird Code Panel meetings, working with the EirGrid Gird Code team on joint areas, updating the Utility Regulator on changes, managing the derogations etc. In addition it is envisaged that this role will also have a data management side to it. You will be trained to carry out various processes to allow senior members of the team to support key projects. Hence the role will cover other areas for which full training will be given. Key Responsibilities Support the day-to-day management of the Northern Ireland Grid and work with the equivalent EirGrid Teams in joint areas. Lead on Grid Code changes and derogations and keep all stakeholder informed of progress. Lead on implementing any future European Network Codes and if required attend relevant ENTSOe forums. Provide analytical support for any changes in Codes. Be a good communicator in explaining the changes to technical and non-technical audiences. Carry out daily/weekly or monthly data processes as required. What Youll Need Joining SONI as a System Support Grid Code and Data Analyst, youll need: Essential: University degree in Electrical Engineering; or relevant equivalent degree in Science and Technology; or background in an analytical degree with an emphasis on analysis, with 2 years relevant experience. General proficiency of MS applications such as Excel, Word and Power Point. Exemplary analysis and problem-solving skills. Strong ability to develop and provide innovative solutions to complex issues in a timely manner. Able to extract data from different systems using a variety of methods. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience. Excellent writing and presentation skills. Excellent organizational skills and strong track record of delivery. Strong understanding of the requirements of stakeholders and industry relevant to the role. Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also being able to define and guide own work under minimal supervision. Passionate, engaging with a drive and enthusiasm to deliver on the company vision and strategy. Flexibility and agility to manage a wide range of issues at the same time.
