University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust
At UHNM, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and proactive Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist who would like to work as part of a friendly, welcoming and experienced Hand Service, providing care to patients post-surgery and following trauma to their upper limb, with a special interest in hands. The post is predominantly based at County Hospital, delivering outpatient rehabilitative care and involvement in the Hand Fracture clinics.
This post provides an excellent opportunity for a therapist to demonstrate and develop their skills in a specialty area; provide clinical and professional leadership, embed evidence-based service development, and deliver essential assessment and treatment to patients in a progressive University Hospital, having strong links with Keele, Coventry, and Derby Universities.
Skills and experience in assessment and treatment of hand injuries and conditions, including splinting, are required.
We welcome those working at band 6 level who seek career progression and can provide evidence of appropriate development and ambitions, as well as those already working at band 7 level.
If you feel you have the experience required and want to take the opportunity to work at an acute trust, we would love to hear from you. The successful candidate will be expected to fully invest in the Trust Values of Compassion, Improving, Safer, and Together.
Main duties of the job
Supervision will be provided by Principal Therapists, and continuous development is supported through appraisal, supervision, internal training, and external learning.
