Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust for a self-motivated and confident individual to join our friendly pharmacy team who provide a range of pharmaceutical services. Applicants must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council. The successful candidate will support the smooth running of the inpatient Pharmacy ensuring that medicines are supplied safely and accurately in a timely manner. You will be required to undertake a broad range of duties and on the job training will be provided. The post holder will work alongside the Lead Technician for Operations. Main duties of the job Main duties You will be part of a team of highly professional and dedicated staff whose aim is to provide an excellent, patient focused service. The Pharmacy technician role involves: Co-ordinating the day-to-day activities in the Dispensary Dispensing for inpatients and out-patients Stock control management Answering telephones queries Supporting the training and supervision of new starters and other support staff Undertaking regular audits Participating in late nights, weekends, and bank holidays Provide line-management to junior members of the team with the support of the Lead Technician. The required candidates must have excellent organisational and time management skills as they will be responsible for a variety of activities within the area.
