Morgan Hunt is delighted to be partnering with a public sector organisation in Glasgow in their search for a Senior Building Services Manager reporting into the Head of FM.
Role summary:
The role of the Senior Building Services Manager is primarily to operate within the Facilities Team, committed to the Company's strategic business objectives, including being an ambassador for our culture and values at all times. Oversee the team workplans and manage the three Building Services Managers and Facilities Manager on behalf of the Head of Facilities ensuring all work aligns with the agreed strategic and operational priorities.
Responsibilities:

2. Deputise for the Head of Facilities as required working strategically with other departments across the SEC and external agencies and suppliers.
3. To design and implement a proactive and efficient planned preventative maintenance plan for the SEC campus that is arranged around, and ensures minimum disruption, to the events hosted at the SEC.
4. To design and implement a proactive and efficient reactive maintenance repair and replacement programme, with clear, ambitious, and measurable timelines to resolution.
5. To manage, motivate and support the Facilities Team, freelance staff, contractors and suppliers in all aspects of the maintenance, repair and replacement on the SEC Campus including, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, life safety, plumbing, joinery, lock-smith, painting, cleaning and grounds maintenance.
6. To instigate and manage regular inspections of the campus plant and equipment, identifying any required services, repairs and maintenance in a timely manner.
7. To understand the SEC's statutory compliance obligations and to plan, schedule and report on related works and ensure tracking via the Compliance Register.
8. Monitoring and inputting to global scheduling for the servicing of upcoming events, e.g. heating, lighting, ventilation.
9. Deliver site inductions of contractors as per the agreed policy and procedures. Issue permits for varied key tasks and activities around the Campus (including working at height, hot works and restricted access)
10. To ensure an accurate and comprehensive asset register is established and that the maintenance, service history and life-cycle planning of the same is accurate, compliant and up-to-date.
11. Relating to the SEC's Asbestos Management Policy and Asbestos Management Plan, and on behalf of the Head of Facilities, ensure that all intrusive works are effectively planned and managed and that known ACMs are not disturbed. Ensure a full understanding of the SEC's Asbestos related policies, procedures and toolkits and successfully complete the 'Duty to Manage' Asbestos UKATA training (BOHS P).
12. To ensure that all functions are carried out in accordance with current legislation, standards and codes of practice and to proactively identify risks and ensure that method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place for all personnel and activities.
13. To work collaboratively with the Environment and Waste Team to achieve improved environmental performance in all relevant areas.
14. To maintain effective communications strategies between the Facilities Team and all colleagues, clients, partners, contractors and customers to ensure the efficient running of all events and activities at the SEC.
15. To adopt the integration of technology and digital processes in the Facilities Team ensuring appropriate systems are in place for effective Facilities operations.
