We are working with a client seeking a *Forensic Paramedic* to join their team in Worcestershire. This role is based at custody suites in *Telford*, offering a unique opportunity to collaborate with police officers in assessing and treating individuals in police custody.
*About the Role:*
As a *Forensic Paramedic*, you will play a key role in evaluating the health and wellbeing of detainees. Your responsibilities will include assessing individuals for medical conditions such as mental health issues, substance misuse, diabetes-related complications, and head injuries. Additionally, you will conduct forensic medical examinations to collect evidence that supports the criminal justice process.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Provide forensic healthcare services in accordance with the *Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE)* and local protocols.
* Maintain thorough and timely documentation, including injury records and activity logs.
* Offer expert guidance to custody officers on detainees’ healthcare needs and care prioritization.
* Collaborate with the *Forensic Medical Examiner* when required.
* Assess detainees’ fitness for detention, police interviews, charge comprehension, and release.
* Evaluate intoxication levels, withdrawal symptoms, and associated risks.
*Essential Requirements:*
* *Registered Paramedic* with a minimum of *3 years' experience*.
* Active *HCPC membership*.
* *Full UK driving licence* and access to a vehicle for business use.
* Strong communication skills in *spoken and written English*.
* UK residency for at least *3 years*.
* *Right to Work in the UK*.
* Ability to obtain *Level 2 NPPV clearance* through police vetting.
* *DBS check* required (conducted upon appointment).
