Department : Sales Location : Field based Reports to : Accounts Director (NHS & Public Sector) Hours: 37.5 per week Salary: (Depending on experience) Role Overview We're seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive Cambridge Spark's growth in the NHS and wider public services sector.
This is primarily a field-based role, requiring extensive in-person networking and event participation to generate qualified leads for our sales team .
Key Responsibilities Active Field Presence: Spend significant time attending industry events, conferences and networking forums across the public sector.
Build Cambridge Spark's visibility through consistent in-person engagement.
Active Field Event Strategy & Execution: Identify and attend key public sector events.
Evaluate and secure strategic event sponsorships.
Coordinate Cambridge Spark's presence at conferences.
Manage exhibition stands and networking activities.
Convert event connections into business opportunities.
Networking & Relationship Building: Actively participate in public sector forums, working groups and communities.
Create opportunities for meaningful engagement with decision-makers.
Lead Generation: Convert field activities into qualified opportunities through strategic follow-up and relationship nurturing.
Pipeline Development: Create and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, working closely with the sales team to ensure effective handover and follow-up.
Market Intelligence: Track digital transformation initiatives and data strategy developments across public services to identify new business opportunities.
Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on key metrics including event ROI, leads generated, meetings secured and pipeline value.
Collaborative Working: Work collaboratively with the marketing team on events.
