An excellent opportunity has become available within Yarm School Catering and Events Department. We are currently looking for experienced Bar Staff to work in our 750 seat capacity Princess Alexandra Auditorium and associated Lounge Bar for Events. The successful candidate will have experience of working in this environment and must be willing to undergo screening required for the Disclosure and Barring Service due to the location. This vacancy is based on 52-week availability, evenings, weekends and possible day time working hours. Job Introduction: To provide polite and efficient service to customers and patrons at The Princess Alexandra Auditorium, Yarm. This involves serving drinks on the bar at events. The events can be busy, so we are looking or people who have experience on a bar, pulling pints and serving spirits. Speed of service, accuracy and efficiency are paramount as well as excellent verbal communication. The role is also responsible for assisting with the evacuation of the venue in an emergency. Main Responsibilities: Serving and dealing with customers in a polite and efficient manner; always ensuring the highest level of customer care. Ensuring that a ready supply of all drinks and snacks are available at all times, liaising with Management to ensure a smooth, efficient service to our customers. To ensure all work areas and surfaces are clean and tidy as is practical at all times, especially at the end of the day/shift Ensure that all beverages and snacks are served to agreed specifications and remain within licensing laws at all times To promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues To undertake training and comply with all company policies and procedures To raise any issues to the Line Manager or Catering Manager in a timely manner To report any incidents of accident, near miss, fire, loss, theft, damage, unfit food or any other irregularities To work at events, as required, which will include evening and weekend work during the School Holidays The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience in a hospitality role, preferably working in a bar where customer service has been a focus.
