Job Description:
Responsibilities:
* Lead and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety assurance activities for systems within a Nuclear project.
* Conduct safety analyses, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations to ensure the safety of systems and operations.
* Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure safety requirements are met and integrated into system designs.
* Review and assess safety cases, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
* Develop and maintain safety management plans, hazard logs, and safety reports.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance on systems safety issues to support decision-making.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes, tools, and methodologies.
Key Requirements:
* 7-10 years of experience within Systems Safety Assurance or a related safety-critical engineering discipline.
* Experience working in safety-critical industries such as Nuclear, Defence, Oil and Gas, Civil Engineering, Airports, or Rail.
* Strong understanding of safety engineering principles, including hazard analysis, risk assessment, and system safety lifecycle.
* Proven ability to conduct safety case development, failure modes analysis, and fault tree analysis.
* Experience with safety management systems and the ability to communicate complex safety issues clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
* A strong problem solver, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
* Experience with safety assessments in Nuclear projects or environments.
* Membership of professional bodies such as Institute of Safety Engineers (ISEE) or Chartered Engineer status.
