Hours of Work: Casual hours are available over 48 weeks a year, with all sessions shutting for two weeks in August and two weeks over the
Christmas period. Staff may also have the option to deliver on our
holiday provision, to cover other holiday/sickness throughout the
year and to work and support Blackburn Rovers Community Trust’s
matchday activities.
Location: Blackburn Rovers Football Club, Ewood Park Stadium (Darwen End), Blackburn, BB2 4JF and Youth Centres across Blackburn with Darwen (BwD)
Responsible To: Neighbourhood Youth Manager (and Senior Management Team)
Contractual Status: Casual worker – as and when required

Overall purpose of the Job: This role will involve working within the local community (predominantly under 18s) of Blackburn with Darwen to deliver youth engagement (and optionally sport) provision. The post
holder will support a varied youth engagement timetable targeting
a variety of ages between 8 and 19 (and up to 25 for those with
SEND).
The role requires an individual with experience working in a youth club/community sport setting and a good understanding of children/young people in the borough.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To support the delivery of a varied timetable of engagement
provision/opportunities across BwD neighbourhoods.
Be part of a team that delivers sessions across the neighbourhood provision footprint.
To offer support to help develop and provide innovative provision.
To help embed a positive culture across all delivery.
To attend relevant meetings and training
Support the management of all sports facilities and equipment usage across the neighbourhoods.
Promote the Neighbourhood offer to local communities.
To assist with the monitoring and evaluating of sessions.
Experience:
Experience Delivering/designing a variety of youth/sports sessions in a
community setting, often with disaffected hard-to-reach young
people.
Experience of supporting/developing a programme of activities.
Experience working with similar demographics to the people within
the borough of Blackburn; particularly with those of a BAME
background
Knowledge:
Knowledge Effectively safeguarding CYP.
Youth work knowledge, including innovative was of working to
engage children and young people.
Local demographics and the barriers minority groups face in our society.
Youth work values and principles and how these are implemented
into practice.
The issues that impact on the lives of CYP and a track record in
delivering innovative and exciting youth work.
Ability to work in accordance with national, local and organisational
Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 Youth Worker qualification.
