About our Organisation
Soil Association Exchange is a new service for all UK farmers to help them farm in a way that improves the climate and protects nature and enhances their profitability. SA Exchange works with farmers to measure the environmental impact and provides advice and financial incentives on how the farm can improve.
Soil Association Exchange is a fast-paced, commercial startup that spun out of the Soil Association charity in 2022. Exchange sells its services to a variety of customers including retailers (e.g. M&S and Sainsburys), processors (e.g. Riverford and Arla) and financial institutions (e.g. Lloyds Banking Group). Through these companies we are now working with thousands of UK farmers.

At Soil Association Exchange, we’re revolutionising agriculture by empowering farmers to adopt sustainable practices that improve the climate, protect nature, and enhance profitability. We help measure and improve the farms environmental impact and link farmers to rewards for doing so. Since our launch in 2022, we’ve partnered with major players like M&S, Lloyds Bank, Coop, and Riverford, and have 2,000 farms on the platform, with more joining every day!

About You
We’re looking for a resilient, proactive, and systems-focused problem solver to lead our Fullstack and DevOps engineering efforts. You’ll thrive in a collaborative, impact-driven team, taking ownership of DevOps and SysOps infrastructure and developing high quality features.
1. DevOps & SysOps expertise: Experience maintaining AWS-based infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and security best practices.
2. Fullstack development: Strong Node.js and API development skills, with experience in relational databases.
3. Automation & scalability: Passion for simplifying infrastructure, optimising performance, and integrating new tools.
4. Team player: Communicates clearly, collaborates effectively, and embraces feedback. We’ll support you to do your best work while building technology that makes a real impact.
