There are two aspects of this role: one aspect is to catalogue this fascinating collection to international standards of archival description. The other aspect is to support the Senior Archivist in the research, planning and delivery of two creative workshops in 2026. The aim of the workshops is to engage current and/or former NHS mental health patients and staff with the collection. These workshops will be delivered in collaboration with The Cassel Hospital Charitable Trust, On The Record, the NHS, and a freelance artist and will be based at the Planned Environment Therapy Archives and Special Collections (PET Archives). These workshops will include creative and reflective activities which draw on the collection as a resource (examples of this kind of activity include zine-making and redacted poetry) We’re not expecting you to lead on the engagement aspect of the project, but you must be willing to get involved. Please contact the Senior Archivist, Debra Doggett, for an informal chat about our trauma-informed approach: ddoggettmulberrybush.org.uk. About you Full training will be given, if needed, when it comes to cataloguing on Epexio. The collection is already box-listed with a basic level of description on our online catalogue, which is why we feel that the project should only take one year to complete. We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail to revise the archival arrangement and populate descriptions to file level at a minimum. Due to the emphasis on engagement, the ideal candidate would have some experience of working in a public-facing role. This does not necessarily need to be in the archives sector. You will also be prepared to engage with our therapeutic community ethos by taking part in reflective groups both for supervision and as part of our reflective ethos on a regular basis, meaning that you will be supported and expected to share your experiences and thoughts about the work you are doing and the impact it is having on you, good or bad, in both individual and group settings. This is standard practice across the charity and is designed to ensure best practice and to support you with your work.
