Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will work on a wide variety of general electrical topics associated with test rig, electrical design, maintenance, repair, small rig modifications, and obsolescence management.
Responsibilities:
1. Respond to requests for electrical engineering support, capture requirements, develop solutions, and implement.
2. Produce and revise existing drawings and documents for modification implementation in line with Airbus Standard Practices.
3. Calculate wire lengths, voltage, current, and other associated values for design solutions as required.
4. Create suitable Bill of Materials (BOMs) for design solutions and locate appropriate suppliers for component parts and request quotations accordingly.
5. Seek alternative suppliers for component parts if primary suppliers do not have parts in stock or have long lead-times.
6. Use alternative parts for design solutions if original parts are unavailable or have long lead-times.
7. Support relevant stakeholders with test, integration, and commissioning processes as required.
8. Work with a multi-disciplined team of varying seniority to provide input on maintenance scheduling for landing gear electrical/avionics activities.
Essential Skills:
1. Practical knowledge of test rig electrical requirements and design.
2. Practical knowledge of fluid and electro-mechanical components.
3. Proficient in using AutoCAD for creating relevant electrical drawings.
4. Ability to investigate and diagnose electrical faults on test rigs.
5. Understanding wiring diagrams, schematics, and aircraft documentation (including AMMs, FCOMs, etc.).
6. Practical hand skills using electrical/electronic components and associated tools (e.g., soldering irons, multi-meters, etc.).
Advantageous Skills:
1. Understanding of data acquisition.
2. Knowledge of Aircraft Fuel Systems.
3. Knowledge of Landing Gear Systems.
4. Experience working with Airbus.
5. CompEx-12 certification or knowledge of ATEX electrical requirements for explosive atmosphere.
